Obesityhelp.com is indeed an active site, and functions well as an online support group. That was the original intent of this site (bariatric-forums.com) but participation has fallen off here, while there is still a lot of activity over at obesityhelp.com.
We four baratric surgeons at MIMIS haven't registered at obesityhelp.com, primarily due to cost. Registering there costs almost $1000 per year per surgeon. We stand ready here, however to answer any medical or surgical questions that any forum members put forth.

Hello, Dr. M! I'm glad to see you here.
I'm only 13 days out of surgery and doing well. Just wanted to say that I have been doing my online support at thinnertimes.com I thought I would check in here to see if there might be local people to connect with. I'm in Emily. If anyone is checking in to this forum to learn about MIMIS, they are great. Linda
